Apostille:
Hague Convention

INA Traduceri offers complete services legalized translation services, as well as apostille on documents in Romanian language required in the European Union countries and beyond. The apostille is a stamp affixed to official documents, available in the States participating at the Hague Convention.

What is the Hague Apostille?

For international recognition of official documents, the Hague Convention (1961) provides for a simplification of the procedure by applying the apostille recognized in all the countries participating in this agreement.

These apostilles replace the superlegalization system of documents by the consulates of the countries in which recognition is wanted, and has been applied in Romania since 2001.

The courts empowered to apply apostilles in Romania are the following:

- the Prefecture – for apostilles applied to the original documents
- the Ministry of Justice - for apostilles applied to legalized translations and certified copies of original documents

Documents on which the apostille is applied

The apostilles can be applied on official documents or certified translations thereof: birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, criminal record certificates, graduation documents, diplomas/degrees, medical certificates, certificates of origin, commercial invoices.

Documents to be used in non-member countries of the Hague Convention will follow the normal procedure for superlegalization.
